What this code means

F3 E2 moisture sensor

F3 E2 occurs when five consecutive loads are dried without registering moisture sensor data.

Why F3 E2 appears

Maytag says the code is triggered after five consecutive loads dry with no moisture sensor data. Household and commercial dryers share the same guidance.

Steps in the order Maytag gives them

  1. Press the Power button to clear the code, then restart the machine.
  2. Level check: a dryer that is out of level may not let clothes touch the sensors on the inside. Use a level, then adjust the feet.
  3. Load size: single items and very small loads may not touch the sensors. Go for larger loads or an Automatic cycle rather than Timed Dry.
  4. Power cycle: breaker(s) off for one minute, on again, a time dry cycle, and one minute of watching.

If the fault carries on, service is the next step.
