Maytag shows F5 E4 when three cycles run without the door opening.

What this code means
F5 E4
The washer has run three consecutive cycles without the door being opened (front load); lid not opened between cycles (top load).
Clear it in these steps
- Front load: open the door, close it, and start the cycle again.
- Top load: confirm the lid is shut, then open it and close it once more.
- Persistent code: disconnect power for 5 minutes and reconnect. Maytag advises calling for service if a top load lid problem remains.
Why it appears
On front load washers the trigger is three consecutive cycles with no door opening. On top load washers it is the lid staying closed between cycles.
Other door codes
See F5 E2 for a door that is not locking, F5E2 for a lid lock that has not reached the locked position, and F7 E0 for another reset-only code.
