Maytag refrigerator PO code: the Power Outage alert, and the button that acknowledges it.
Model compatibility: Maytag reuses codes across series and model years, so PO may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
What this code means
PO
PO is the Power Outage alert, shown after the freezer temperature reached 18°F (-8°C) or higher while power was off.
A beeping Maytag refrigerator with PO on the temperature display is reporting that it lost power for a while. The alert applies to the side-by-side and French door bottom-freezer models Maytag documents.
The alert in short
- Display: “PO” in place of the temperature.
- Sound: three alert tones.
- Trigger: power to the refrigerator was off and the freezer warmed to 18°F (-8°C) or higher.
Acknowledging the outage
The word “Confirm” keeps blinking until you press MEASURED FILL under it. After that, PO goes away and the Home screen returns.
