Maytag over-the-range microwaves show FC E2 when the Wi-Fi link to the router fails.
Model compatibility: Maytag reuses codes across series and model years, so FC E2 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
What this code means
FC E2
FC E2 is a connected-appliance Wi-Fi problem: the microwave could not connect to the router.
FC E2 explained
This is a Wi-Fi code. The microwave could not make a connection with the router, and Maytag points to a time out, a weak signal, a router that has failed, the microwave’s Wi-Fi module or the wiring around it.
What Maytag suggests
Begin at the breaker: off for one (1) minute, back on, then monitor for one (1) minute and verify the microwave. Next reset your wireless router. Ask whether your phone or tablet connects fine, taking it to the microwave’s location. When it does, the router goes without power for 2 minutes and the microwave also goes without power for 2 minutes before both return.
Weak signal at the microwave
Move the router, get a compatible signal extender, or contact your Internet Service Provider.
