Explains FC E2 and the router and power resets Maytag recommends.
Model compatibility: Maytag reuses codes across series and model years, so FC E2 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
What this code means
FC E2
The range could not connect to the router; Wi-Fi Module, wiring, router or signal may be involved.
A connected Maytag range that cannot join your home network shows FC E2. Maytag’s article ties the code to a time out, poor signal strength, a failed router, the Wi-Fi Module in the range, or the associated wiring.
Test the network
- Does a second Wi-Fi capable device work correctly?
- Does your smart phone or tablet work normally when carried to the range?
When the answer is yes, the manual says to take the router’s power away for two minutes and restore it. After that, take the range’s power away for two minutes and restore it too.
Power reset at the breaker
Switch the range off at its circuit breaker for a minute, then back on, and observe it for another minute. Make sure the range works.
