Model compatibility: Maytag reuses codes across series and model years, so FC E3 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
What this code means
FC E3
The range could not reach the router; possible Wi-Fi module, router or signal fault.
Meaning
FC E3 is the range reporting a failed connection to the router. According to Maytag, the issue could be a connection time out, poor signal strength, a router that has failed, the Wi-Fi Module, or the wiring around it.
Checklist
- Range breaker off, one minute, then back on.
- Observe the range for a minute and check that it operates.
- Reset the wireless router; the manual says there is no link between the Wi-Fi Module and that router.
- Check another Wi-Fi capable device, for instance a smart phone or tablet.
Low signal
Fewer than full bars? Maytag suggests a new router position, a compatible signal extender, or a conversation with your Internet Service Provider.
